IMPOSTER PAINTING
ALFRED SISLEY (1839-1899)
LA VAGUE, BAIE DE LANGLAND (PAYS DE GALLES)
I picked this painting because the scenery invited the viewer to look closer at the different textures and shapes. The way Sisley used such detail and subtle colours to portray a very picturesque scene is ultimately why I chose this painting for my “Imposter painting.”
Since we were replicating a painting (Sisley’s), we had to make sure it was as accurate as possible, which at times was very strenuous. In the end I was very pleased with the final image.
